I am a gm service manager and there have been no security system recalls on 02 grand ams i have a 2002 grand am as well and my security systems keeps acting up it will activate then i cant use car because it wont turn off then i have to get it towed in and they reset it they showed me how to but it still doesn't work for me No need for a tow you sit in your car for 10 minutes until the security light goes off then you can start your car again. Its poor parts that GM choose to use. I love my Grand Ams ( on the 5th one)
There have been many electrical problems with the Jeep Cherokee - I haven't experienced it with my 2002, but my brother in law had a ton of electrical problems with his 2000 model. It would be to your benefit to inquire with Daimler Chrysler if any of the above situations have been the subject of a recall.

I have a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. After futher research online and seeing all the problems everyone else has with the heater, I emailed my concern to Jeep on their website. I explained my disgust about this and the gentleman wants me to take it to the dealership (Jeep pays) to see what is going on for a possible recall. I forwarded him the websites with ALL the problems from other owners. Please contact them and let them know about your also. I think the more people that do it, maybe the faster the recall will be.
