Your coin is either a British George II gold Guinea or a Half-Guinea.

The Guinea coin is 25-26 mm in diameter, the Half-Guinea a little smaller.

Either coin in any condition would be worth something, if only for the value of the gold.

All British Coins from that period have George III on the obverse. No British coins from that period have lions armed with swords.

The 1937 to 1951 British Shilling (George VI) with Scottish reverse, shows a forward facing lion seated on a crown holding a sword and sceptre.

A "Crown" would indicate that the coin comes from a monarchy such as Britain, or a Crown dependancy such as Guernsey or Jersey.

The lion is traditionally a symbol of England, but usually appears as a single lion, or as three lions on a shield.

Does your coin have a year on it, a king or a queen, what does it appear to be made from, what is the diameter?
