The highest level of honors is Summa Cum Laude, then comes Magna Cum Laude, and then Cum Laude. Thus, a grade point average (GPA) of 4.0 is Summa Cum Laude. Acutally, Summa Cum Laude starts at a 3.85 GPA. Still, different institutions have different requirements.
Cum Laude is awarded to graduates with a Graceland University GPA of 3.50-3.74 and signifies special honor.Magna Cum Laude is awarded to graduates with a Graceland University GPA of 3.75-3.89 and signifies achievement worthy of great honor.Summa Cum Laude is awarded to graduates with a Graceland University GPA of 3.90-4.00 and signifies achievement of the highest order.

3.5 to 3.69 for cum laude. 3.7 to 3.89 for magna cum laude. 3.9 and up for summa cum laude. I do not know if these scores are based on institutional or cumulative GPAs.
It is an honor awarded to college and university students who display academic excellence. There are three levels of honors as follows from lowest to highest. * Cum Laude * Magna Cum Laude * Summa Cum Laude (highest level).
You can if you keep up those great marks! Whether you qualify for summa cum laude depends on your GPA at the completion of your last semester as you graduate.
