Does the Brazilian blowout have formaldahyde?

The jury is still out on that one.

The Emerging Issues and Alerts article states that the product, described as

"34 oz/1-Liter Brazilian Blowout Solution", was submitted and tested by

(Oregon) OSHA for it's ingredient contents. The findings came back that the

"product contains 4.85% formaldehyde. The product also was found to contain

methanol, ethanol, beta hydroxyl ethyl methacrylate, and hexadecanol."

The date this product was sent to OSHA was August 31, 2009. BrazilianCROET

is awaiting analytical results for a product named Acai Professional Smoothing

Solution (formaldehyde free) originally shipped by Brazilian Blowout on

8/12/2010." This is the newest Brazilian Blowout™formula.

I think it's too soon to point fingers. I may be completely naive but to think a

company would be lying to it's consumers knowing that these tests were being

performed would be suicide. They have to know that their business would not

survive should the findings come back that there is indeed formaldehyde in the Acai

Professional Smoothing Solution Blowout™ did not start claiming it was

formaldehyde-free until April 2010.
