No, true anteaters do not lay eggs. They are placental mammals, and give birth to live young. They are not monotremes, which are egg-laying mammals.

True anteaters should not be confused with "Spiny anteaters", more properly known as echidnas. These creatures are monotremes, meaning that they are egg-laying mammals, like platypuses.

Anteaters do not lay eggs, as they are placental mammals, giving birth to live young.

However, in Australia there is a species of monotreme (egg-laying mammal), called the echidna. It is not at all related to the anteater, but it is popularly called the "spiny anteater", as it feeds almost exclusively on termites and ants.

The echidna lays its egg in a pouch it develops just through the breeding season. The egg is incubated in its pouch until it hatches, whereupon the young are then deposited in a burrow which the echidna digs.

No. The antechinus does not lay eggs. It is a marsupial, and marsupials do not lay eggs, but give birth to live young. The only egg-laying mammals, or monotremes, are the platypus and the echidna.

No. Anteaters are placental mammals. They should not be confused with the echidna, which is often nicknamed the "spiny anteater", and which does indeed hatch from eggs. Echidnas are monotremes, like platypuses, and thus they lay eggs in order to reproduce, even though they are mammals.
