Yes. PowerPoint 2007 (and 2010) support loading presentations that were made in older PowerPoint version.
If you are referring to the 2003, 2007 or 2010 edition. Then yes.
It could be either PowerPoint 2007 or 2010.
Upgrade to powerpoint 2010
No, you will need to covert it first (on the computer wih 2007):1. Make sure you do not have the PowerPoint open that you wish to convert and that your work is saved.2. Rename the PowerPoint from "---.pptx" to "---.ppt".This should have converted it and should now be viewable on computers without PowerPoint 2007 or the PowerPoint 2007 Viewer.

If you are taking a PP 2007 into PP 2000 it won't work because 2007 has different formats which 2000 can't open. But 2000 into 2007 will work because 2000 format is already in 2007. Get it?
Windows xp can support a number of different versions, Office 2003, 2007 and the latest being 2010
Yes. In PowerPoint 2010, you can insert a .swf file like other formats videos. PowerPoint 2010 supports .swf, .asf, .avi, .mpg or .mpeg, .wmv. But in PowerPoint 2007 or earlier, .swf is not allowed to insert into powerpoint. You need to convert swf to other video formats, such as .asf, .avi, .mpg or .mpeg, .wmv.
Yes. Since PowerPoint 2003 is older than PowerPoint 2007, 2007 can open an earlier version of PowerPoint. But Earlier version cannot open later versions like 2003 cannot open 2007 files.
you must save as "PowerPoint97-2003" Presentation in PowerPoint 2007. But I do not think it is an good idea "save as PowerPoint 97-2003". Because there are some effect in PowerPoint 2007 can not show in PowerPoint 2003. And after "save as", you can find it will be much bigger than before. I think you can finish your file in PowerPoint 2007
