Is skylanders giants game the same game as skylanders spyros adventure or not?
Giants is the second game of Skylanders. Your current Skylanders can still work for Giants. There will be bigger figure and characters you can buy and new story.
Do lightcore skylanders work in spyros adventure?
No Unfortunately not. The only figure from the Giants game that work in Spyro's Adventure are the series 2 figures. Series 2 figures are characters that were in the Spyro's adventure game, but then reposed for the Giants game. If you are in any doubt, check the side of the packaging and there is a little picture with a cross/tick showing whether the figure will work in Giants or Spyro's Adventure.
Is skylanders giants going to be on the same game as skylanders spyros adventure?
Skylanders Giants is a different video game to Spyro's Adventure, however you can use your original Portal of power in the new game. Also, all Skylanders characters from the original game will work in the new Giants game. However, the totally new characters in the Giants game including all the actual Giants and LightCore figures will not play in the old game. Only those reposed series 2 figures produced for the Giants game, but we're also in the Spyro's Adventure game, will play in the original game. Check the packaging on the side of the new Giants figures and there is a diagram tha shows which games the figure will play in.

Your Portal from Spyro's Adventure will work with the Giants game. That is why Activision designed the Portal Owner's Pack. This contains the Giants video game, and an actual Giant Tree Rex. If you already own a portal you do not need the Starter pack for Giants.
