That is a possibility after last night's episode. But I think that he wants to somehow use her against Elena and so Stefan to get his own family back. Or he simply feels lonely. Caroline is the only one he can make use of. But I would rather think that he may fall in love with Caroline later cause Caroline is really a good girl!
