The cam sensor is mounted into the front timing cover just behind or near the water pump. Note that failure of the cam sensor to work properly is usually not cause by a faulty cam sensor but more commonly a failed permanent magnet located in the cam drive gear.
Behind the cam drive pulleys The electrical connector is located under the top engine cover forward of #1 sparkplug. To reach the Cam Sensor it is necessary to remove the upper cam belt cover. This may require removing the “Alternator Drive Pulley” in order to get enough room to get the cover out of the way. The Cam Position sensor is behind the cam drive pulleys directly below the electrical connector.
The 94 and 95 are the same,no cam sensor.1996 and 1997 are differant in one way.The 1996 and 1997 have a cam sensor. .The 97 has a cam sensor and the 94 does not.The 1996 has a cam sensor too.
