The only thing you are not allowed to do is touch the line of your putt. So if there are loose impediments on your line you can pick them off with your fingers, but not with your putter.
putter
You would use a putter when you are on the green, or just off the green to roll the ball into the hole (well that's the plan!)
Putter
I wont stop you.
It is simply a slang term that was popularised by Ben Hogan. Golf courses in Texas used to have a reputation for very hard and crispy fairways and fringes, so if a player was just off the green they would favour their putter over a wedge.
You hit the ball with a putter, normally on the green, and try to roll it into the hole.
When a player is on the green, they will putt the ball towards or into the hole. A putter is used.
Well that is the putter of course There are all different types, such as belly putters, chest putters and your normal standerized putter. I hope one day my way of putting which is using a driver for putting, will make it big in the game of golf.

Putting is a term in golf where the player usually on the green tries to put the ball in the hole, using a putter.
No, it is a putt. However, if you are off the green, it does not count as a putt in your putts per round stats.
A putter is a golf club that is used for very short length putts such as 10 feet or less and are on level or flat ground on the green near the hole. A driver is used for very long distances.
