Be sure it is a 4g63, non turbod eclipses (rs and gs models) between 1995 and 1999 use the 420a engine (which you can buy turbo kits for too) But if it is a 4g63 than the answer is yes, you would have to buy the correct turbo kit (turbo, oil lines, turbo exhaust manifold, intercooler, piping, etc) and tuning software (DSMlink). It is a good bit of work if you are not experienced with cars and building them. To turbo a non turbo car is is important to make sure the engine can handle it and SHOULD be rebuilt properly to ensure that it will last. If you are serious about this than I suggest reading up on dsmtalk.com and dsmtuners.com both are forums about everything 4G63 and even the 420a engines (non turbo'd eclipse/talon 1995-1999)

4g63 (Turbo) or 420A (non-turbo)
negative only 420a motor for non turbo or 4g63 for turbo model...or extensive modifying. i don't know why you would want to. 2000+ eclipse motors are garbage as well as the dodge 420a non turbo motor...the only motor that sould have ever been put in the eclipse is the 4g63 period.
a non-turbo engine will not hold up to the turbos you will have to put in hardened internals
no
look at the engine, is there a snail shell looking thing attached to the front of the engine...if so then u got one. ------ If your Eclipse is a GS or RS it did not come from the factory with a turbo. the engine should be on the passenger side of the car. That engine is a 420a. If you have an Eclipse GSX or GS-T then you have a turbo charged engine. the engine will be on the drivers side of the car. this is the 4g63 engine. it is possible to have a 420a with a turbo, but someone will have had to put it on themselves, and you would probably know that when you bought it.
turbo front cross member and turbo engine mount
no, the exhaust bolts on at a different place for turbo and non turbo engines you can probably use most of the exhaust but will have to get different engine pipes to hook up between engine and rest of exhaust
yes, of course you can because turbo is driven from the exhaust and nitrous oxide forces air into the engine
Yes, you can put a turbo charger on just about any engine.
Yes, this is possible. However, it involves a significant amount of components and systems not currently in the non-turbo car and it is generally easier, less expensive and more reliable to purchase the turbo car (if one is available).
Swap it for the 4g63. Unless you just want a little boost. Do your math if you stick with the gs engine. You could bolt on the charger and then do the swap after you break something.;-) If u really like the 420a u can jus turbo it...or take it apart drop compression etc....and try to break the 661 whp record ...but no u cant swap it the 4g63 wont fit in the same mounting places
Yes, you can turbo anything.
