Tarantulas and actually all spiders are not poisonous but venomous. most if not all spiders are venomous although the Mexican Red leg, or red knee (b.Smithi) venom is mild, it is about the same as a bee sting, you may swell a bit and the bite are will become very itchy. Most T's are not known for biting but a few are!

No cat spiders are not venomous. Infact i have a pet cat spider it is in a little tank in my room i hold it and nothing happens they are harmless to humans.
