Answer
Contrary to popular belief, pet dander, not hair, is the cause of most allergy symptoms in humans. Certain types of dogs shed more dander, or dry skin cells, than others, but no breed is completely hypoallergenic.
According to Sweet Lucy's Allergic to Dogs pages (see Related Links), dachshunds are one of the worst breeds for allergy sufferers. This claim is confirmed by the International Archives of Allergy and Immunology (Vol. 61, No. 4, 1980, "Dog Dander Allergens"), which says, unlike some dogs, dachshunds possess two types of dander. One is similar to the type found on cats; the other is dog specific.

Regardless of the breed you buy, bathing the dog frequently, using allergen-resistant bedding, and buying an air filter all help reduce allergy symptoms.
Answer I have one Dachshund and I wouldn't say that the breed is good for people with Allergies. My Doxie is a smooth coat and he sheds a lot. He also has a lot of dander, which is what really triggers reactions. This is a common problem in Doxies and there is no way around it. Both long hairs and wire hairs also have a lot of dander.
No dog is totally hypoallergenic. If someone suffers from extremely bad allergies it might be impractical to own a dog.
I would avoid buying any of the cross breed dogs that are popular such as Labradoodles. They are not guaranteed to be hypoallergenic. Because they are cross breeds of Poodles (or a similar breed) and a non-hypoallergenic breed the dog only has a fifty per cent chance of having the hypoallergenic quality.
No, they aren't hypoallergenic. Most hypoallergenic Dog Breeds are smaller breeds that do not shed much, like the Yorkshire Terrier (Yorkie) or the Maltise.
I don't know but I want one really bad. They are good with people who have allergies
Chihuahua's do shed moderately. If you have allergies to dogs then there is a good chance that having a chihuahua will bother you.

No, not usually. Of course, some people have food allergies, so if you are finding that you get a bad reaction after eating tomatoes, you may want to have your doctor test you for allergies. But generally, eating tomatoes has no effect on a person with arthritis. You may see some claims on the internet that tomatoes are bad for people with arthritis, but medical websites like WebMD say there is no evidence to support these claims.
