Chow chows are a breed known for their guarding abilities, and their potential for aggressive behavior.
Having said that, not all chow chows are aggressive - in fact, chow chows are mostly amazing dogs even in a family setting. The nature of the chow chow is of extreme loyalty to their owner, but with an otherwise stand-offish nature, which in many cases is misconstrued as a sour temperament.
Many times chows are not actually naturally aggressive, but are simply owned by incompetent or green owners who do not raise, train, or handle the dogs correctly, resulting in bad behavior and aggressive displays. Chow chows require a dog owners knowledgeable in dog behavior that also take training seriously and understand the importance of consistency. They are not a dog suitable for just any owner.

Not all of them. I have a female chow and she has been around infants and small children since she was 8 weeks old. I made sure she was with them alot as a puppy and socialized her very well. so now when she sees any children in her mind she thinks" great there gonna play with me "It is harder if you get one thats never been around children then you just have to be very cautious. Chows are wonderful dogs if they have proper training and lots of socialization. I have had 3 of them in the past and loved them dearly til they passed away.
yes, every dog bites
Hardly ever, they bite when they feel threatened. But chows don't bite a lot.
