I just put in an American Standard Cadet 3 toilet on a remodel job I'm doing. It was stamped "made in Mexico" and I was shocked that the base of the toilet was not uniformly round as it should be but was crooked and looked hand made. The interior of the toilet also had some very bad lumpy-looking clay work. I would have thought that a major manufacturer like AS would be able to control quality better than this. I would have returned the toilet but I didn't want to go to all the trouble. Otherwise, the toilet worked fine and came with a nice seat and had a well-designed installation setup.
I sold toilets for six years. We carried American Standard, Kohler and a couple of house brands--Pegasus and Glacier Bay. Kohler was our best brand. American Standard was good too, but the Kohler seemed to work the best.
You can find information on Kohler toilets on the Internet. There are many websites that give information on Kohler toilets. You can go on the official Kohler website to find out more information on their toilets.
New toilets can be found at Home Depot and Lowes stores. They can also be purchased online directly from manufacturers such as Kohler and American Standard.
Kohler, Wisconsin, USA
The leaders are Maco Corp., The Kohler Company, and American Standard.
yes i have don it befor
Kohler brand faucets are a bathroom fixture. Kohler brand toilets also are found in some bathrooms.
Kohler will be the best choice for you, although the price is more expensive.
Kohler, American Standard, and Toto just to name a few.
Kohler for sure
Yes, Kohler toilets are good, but parts are very expensive ! If you ever need a fill valve, for instance, you will pay nearly 4 times average cost. I never install them unless my clients specifically request them for that reason. Toto are as good and better value for money.
It depends on the manufacturer of the pressure tank. Call them for an answer. The most common is the Sloan Flushmate system it is used by most toilet manufacturers. Kohler made their own system but it was a lemon and was discontinued they offer a retrofit tank to use the Sloan Flushmate system cost is $125 call Sloan for p/n details it has to be ordered from Kohler and will take about a month to get. Eljer also makes their own. Sloan Flushmate 800-533-3460 Kohler 920-457-4441 Eljer 800-423-5537 Repairs on these toilets can get time consuming, & expensive, replacement may be a better option. My recommendations for replacement toilets are the Toto Drake and the Kohler Cimmeron both of which are fantastic toilets that will be very unlikely to clog. Avoid Am Std Champion as there are some serious quality control issues.
