I am surprised the Legion of Deceny types did not pro-rate Disney on this angle. In comparison Dennis The Menace had a normal two-parent family, and so on. It cannot be entirely a sympathy device, as cartoons do not , by their very nature generate sympathy or compassion, usually. it is an odd field mark of Walt Disney films.
