Are all people native to Hawaii Samoan?

The current archaeological and genetic evidence links Samoans more closely with Fiji and Tonga then Hawaii. To infer that one group or another is more Austronesian or Polynesian or Melanesian then another is a disservice to all Pacific Islanders.

A Hawaiian born Samoan would surely be a Hawaiian by birth. Samoans are not otherwise Hawaiian, Both might be cinsidered Polynesians. If the Samoan is from American Samoa he or she would be considered an Amerian Samoan even if born in Texas. A Native American Indian born in Hawaii is a a Hawaiian by birth but remains an American Indian by both genetics and heritage. Hyphenated Americans may one day become a thing of the past, for how many hyphens are essential for self description.

No they are not but they both fall under the same ethnic group , which is Pacific Islanders , If they were the same they wouldn't be called Hawaiian or Samoan they would just be called one name, Thats almost like saying are lizards and iguanas the same? NO. So They (Samoans&Hawaiians) are clearly not the same .
