kami sama
Answer
Japan doesn't really have their own word for "God," since most of the people are actually Buddhist which doesn't have a God since it's actually a philosophy more than a religion.
Kami (神) would literally mean "spirits, natural forces, essence" in the Shinto faith. Although the word is sometimes translated as "god" or "deity," some Shinto scholars argue that such a translation can cause a misunderstanding of the term.

If you wish for the name of their possessive god, then you will be disappointed. They don't actually have a god. The prime religions that made Japan what it is today would be Shintoism, and Buddhism. After a period of time, there then came Catholicism which influenced a new era in japan which combined all three faiths into their culture.
As far as Shinto and Buddhism, there are Japanese philosophers that had announced that there was a god and a devil, even though that goes against all of those religions. In this case, you can start by looking up Genshin. He was one infamous to these philosophies.

Just as the deer thirsts is the English equivalent of 'Sicut cervus desiderat'. In the word by word translation, the adverb 'sicut' means 'as, just as'. The noun 'cervus' means 'deer'. The verb 'desiderat' means '[he/she/it] is desiring, desires, does desire'. The text is taken from the latin of Psalm 42, which is commonly translated "As the hart longs [for running water, So longs my soul for you, O God]" Therefore the more accurate way to translate it to English would be 'As the hart longs'.
The Aramaic word Abba is translated to mean father three places in the new testament -- Mark 14:36; Rom. 8:15; Gal. 4:6. There are other words that have been translated "father" in English translations of the Bible -- however, some put special emphasis on the "Abba Father" as it is a more intimate name for father and thus shows more of a personal relationship to God that many Christians consider to be very important.
