Scotland's traditional clothing (which isn't actually worn alot today) are tartan and kilts. tartan is a certain pattern on material made up of different lines and blocks of colour that overlap. different colours of tartan often relate to different "clans" if you search tartan on Google images that will give you a good idea of what it looks like. Kilts are clothing similar to skirts but worn by men (its true!) they are often made from tartan, and girls can wear them too, but they're traditionally for men. they are worn with long socks, black shoes and a shirt and jacket. generally people only really wear kilts at weddings, parties, or other important events. most scottish peopel wear normal clothes :)

The national dress in Scotland (for men) is the kilt. A 'dress' kilt is worn with a white shirt, black waistcoat and black jacket, a sporran, socks and black shoes. It's also sometimes worn with a 'gillie' shirt, which is a loose white shirt with a criss-cross lacing tie at the neck. This is a more casual look. However, it is still worn with the sporran, socks and shoes.
