Some believe it to be Hinduism - circa 4,000 to 10,000 BC.
While Hinduism is the first major religion, there is a historical debate as to whether Judaism or Zoroastrianism is the first monotheistic religion. The debate centers both over age (since Zoroastrianism was founded after Judean Kingdoms existed but before the Babylonian Exile when much of Jewish belief was documented) and over the definition of monotheism (since the powers of the Zoroastrian demon "Angra Mainyu" may be sufficient for Zoroastrianism to be considered a henotheism, not a monotheism).

Paganism. But technically I could also say things like Samaritan-ism, Zoroastrianism, Druze, Hinduism, religions which are mainly ethnic in nature and which don't exist in any large amounts in western Europe. Although, Hinduism may be an exception to that, but compared to the percentage of the other religions, I doubt Hinduism make s much of a splash in Western Europe.

Some scholars, including Mary Boyce, Professor Emerita of Iranian Studies at University of London, conclude that Zoroastrianism began in southern Russia, the area from the Iranian people of today emigrated. Others say that Zoroastrianism may have originated in central Asia, perhaps in Afghanistan. I find the southern Russia origin more persuasive, not only because the Iranian people originated there, and therefore could have brought the religion with them into eastern Iran, but because of similarities between Zoroastrianism and Hinduism, which could also have originated in southern Russia. Zoroastrianism did not reach the Medes and Persians of western Iran until around the eighth century BCE, leading some to believe that the religion originated there.
