Croatia has become an increasingly popular travel destination; its relatively cheap prices for eating out and night life have made it a popular destination for young tourists. Zadar is rich with history and culture but has seen its fair share of troubles, the city has had much of its beauty restored in its historic churches and museums and is a popular calling point for taking boats to nearby Islands.
Zadar is only 30 minutes away from the airport and is a relatively undiscovered city rich with history and culture. You can see Roman remains, Romanesque churches and amazing art installations, the walled port is lined with fish restaurants and small cafes but if you wish to escape the city then take a boat to the desolate Islands just off the coast.
For culture and history Zadar is a fantastic holiday and the nightlife is enough to keep anyone occupied, but if you are just looking to get away from it all then the surrounding Islands can be of service.
