The only way to destroy a Wendigo is to burn it. You see, once one becomes a Wendigo, it's heart turns to a chunk of ice, and this must be melted to destroy the beast. While the "classic" method is a flaming arrow, fire in general usually works (providing the heart itself is burned).

Walk up towards the cave, and the Wendigo will appear. Don't walk towards him, as he'll grab you and eat you and you will die. Instead, a load of guards will drop down. Fight one of them until he's dizzy, then grab him, carry him towards Wendigo, and throw him. Wendigo will take a bite out of the guard, then run away. Keep doing this and you'll have the level completed in no time.

i am a Canadian in Ontario, and the mythical creatures that have been spotted or sighted here are mainly the Wendigo or the Bigfoot (Sasquatch). i myself don't believe in the wendigo but like to keep an open mind about the Bigfoot, i always wanted to see a eight foot tall monkey! :) the wendigo and the Bigfoot are only the ones i have heard about because of my living in the northern part of Canada, i have no clue what the rest of them believe.

The Wendigo was a legend of various Native American tribes, (largely the Algonquians) that was said to inhabit the frigid regions of southeast Canada and the northeast United States. My understanding of how a person turned into a Wentigo/Witiko was a person going on a vision quest for spiritual power and if something went wrong, they turned into one. The last one in our area here near Pelican Narrows,SK was destroyed in the 1920's by the late John A. Custer-a very powerful shaman in his own right. This one seen by four late elderly men-now deceased-had no lips, pale skin, glowing red eyes and wore a gunny sack for a hood(like the grim reaper) and it hovered over Frog Portage creek toward the then-young Native men who were desperately trying to get away from it.
