There are so many things that you can use your goat for today; the possibilities are endless! Generally, there are three types of goats: meat goats, angora goats and dairy goats. The meat goats are Boer goats, which is their breed, but often dairy goat wethers (boys that are unable to produce offspring) are killed and eaten. Angora and Cashmere goats are goats that are bred for their wool, just like sheep. Their wool is fluffy and curly. Their are many breeds of Dairy goats, although common are Saanen's, Nubian's, British Alpine's, Toggenburg's, Sables and Australian Melaan. Saanens are white in colour and produce the most milk, although Alpine's milk is creamier. Nubians are strange, as they have very long ears! Although you might be very put off by all those 'My Highland Goatie Oatie Oatie Oatie Oatie' songs and stories about goats eating clothes off your washing line, this is not true! Goats are beautiful and calm creatures that make perfect pets for people of all ages. Please Google pictures of these goats as they are so beautiful. Showing your goats is fun, and anybody can do it! All you need to do is have your goat registered with your dairy branch. Goats parade in a circle and are judged on size, quality and milk. Goat kids are the cutest animals around, as they are so delightfully bubbly in personality. They will jump all over you! There; now do you know what you can do with a goat?!

Goats were first brought to North America by European settlers in the early 16th century. The Spanish explorers introduced goats to the Caribbean islands, and from there, they eventually made their way to mainland North America through various trade routes and settlements. Today, goats are found throughout North America and are raised for their milk, meat, and fiber.

Most dairy farms operate in the same manner. In other words they have similar methods of management to many other dairy farms. However most management types depends on where each dairy farm is located, and what country they reside in. But basically, here are the BASIC methods that every dairy farm should be carring through: Dairy cows need high quality forage, so fields of corn, wheat, barley and/or legumes are grown and harvested for silage. Silage is often stored in tall towers for easier access and minimal spoilage. Any grain that is harvested is sometimes sold as an alternative cash crop for extra income, but most is used in the cows' diets. Straw is baled up for bedding. Some dairy farmers prefer woodchips to straw because of the ability of woodchips to soak up moisture better than straw. Cows are milked twice a day, morning and evening. Types of milking parlours differ from farm to farm but all serve the same function. Dairy cows are left in the barn during their lactating periods to decrease incidence of injury to udders and hence mastitis. Dry and calving cows are separated into different groups and housed in different areas on the farm; dry cows are allowed to be in the corral in winter or on pasture in the summer; calving cows are restricted to the calving area for better ability to keep watch on them. Calves are separated from their dams after the fist two days after birth and bottlefed. Bull calves are castrated and are sent to one of two places; the butcher shop as veal, or to a farm that grows them for beef. Some heifers are kept as replacements, and others are sold to the meat market, to feeder operations or to individual buyers wishing to raise some bottle calves. Very few bulls are kept back and are kept for very long as they get very dangerous as they get older. Bulls are primarily put with heifers for a few months before being sold off to be turned into beef. Older cows are artificially inseminated. And so the cycle continues.

Problems in the Corinthian Church

A glance at just one of the early church epistles reveals the same problems many modern day churches face today (with some obvious exceptions, like #8 below). When the Apostle Paul wrote to the Corinthian church, he had to expound on issues like: 1.The Problem of Divisions in the Church (1 Cor. 1:10-13)

2. The Problem of Worldly Wisdom as compared to Godly wisdom (1 Cor. 1:17-2:16)

3. The Problem of Carnality (1 Cor. 3:1-4)

4. The Problem of Immorality in the Church (1 Cor. 5:1-13)

5. The Problem of Bringing a Fellow Believer to Court (1 Cor. 6:1-8)

6. The Problem of Fornication (1 Cor. 6:15-20)

7. The Problem of Marriage and Divorce (1 Cor. 7:1-40)

8. The Problem of Meats Offered to Idols (1 Cor. 8:1-13)

9. The Problem of the Role Men and Women Should Have in Christ's Church (1 Cor. 11:1-17)

10. The Problem of Abusing the Lord's Supper (1 Cor. 11:20-34)

11. The Problem of Spiritual Gifts (1 Cor. 12:1-31)

12. The Problem of a Lack of Love (1 Cor. 13:1-13)

13. The Problem of Speaking in Tongues (1 Cor. 14:1-40)

14. The Problem of Wrong Teaching About the Resurrection of the Dead (1 Cor. 15:1-58)

15. The Problem of Collecting for the Saints (1 Cor. 16:1-3)

The Problem with the Colossian Church

When the Apostle wrote to the Colossian Church, one of the "problems" was that the believers there were being disturbed by false teachers who said faith in Christ wasn't enough; there were other powers that had to be dealt with, more knowledge which had to be acquired. Not so, thunders the apostle, for everything anyone could possibly need is to be found in Jesus Christ and in him alone. Christ is all-sufficient; Christ is supreme.

Problems within the Galatian Church

The most pressing controversy in the early church was the relationship of new believers, particularly Gentiles, to the Jewish laws. This was especially a problem for the converts and for the young churches that Paul had founded on his first missionary journey. Paul wrote to correct this problem. Later, at the council in Jerusalem, the conflict was officially resolved by the church leaders.

Problems within the church at Thessalonica

Paul wrote this letter to correct their misconceptions about the resurrection and the second coming of Christ. Another doctrinal issue. Coupled with this, we find that Paul had to correct misconceptions of life as well. In other words, if your doctrine is wrong, it will ultimately affect the way you live. The Thessalonians heard that the day of the Lord was at hand therefore, they did not feel the need to work. Paul warned these "idle busybodies" to get to work (1 Thess. 4:11). He admonished the church leaders to "warn them that are unruly" (1 Thess. 5:14). The word for "unruly" is a military term and means "a soldier out of rank."

Other "sins" that led to problems within the church at Thessolonica was that they tended to be "disorderly," or "out of order, out of rank." It was like they were just "fooling around" with their Christianity and meddling in matters they had no right to meddle in (see 1 Timothy 5:13).

Other than Paul's writings, you will find problems in the writings of other apostles as well

The Problems in James

The Apostle James had to expose the hypocritical practices of some believers and teach them what it is to behave godly in Christ Jesus.

Problems in 1 John

1 John was written to a church or group of churches in crisis-churches being bombarded by false teaching. Some individuals who had once been associated with the Christian community had adopted unorthodox doctrines and left the church (2:19). Evidently, after their departure, they continued to spread their propaganda to those who remained. Undoubtedly, this influx of heresy created confusion within the believing community.

Problems in 2 Peter

Likewise, in 2 Peter, the Apostle had to warn Christians about false teachers and exhorted them to grow in their faith in and knowledge of Christ.

If you want to classify "persecution" as a "problem," it is one problem every Christian WANTS to have. In Matthew 5:11,12 Jesus said, "Blessed are you when people insult you andpersecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great; for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you."
