Laman and Nephi were brothers, children of Lehi, who lived in Jerusalem 600 years bC, and after having a vision and a commandment from God, he departed Jerusalem and traveled the desert for 8 years with his family, until they reached the ocean. Later on they built a ship and crossed the ocean to "the promised land", now known as America.

Laman was the bad brother along with Lemuel, and Nephi was the good brother along with Sam.

They always had disputes and confrontations, some of which became very violent even with murder intents from Laman to Nephi.

They got to a point in which God talked to Nephi on his dreams to flee from his evil brothers and organize a different group of good people with his good brothers and sisters and families thereof and anybody who wanted to join them.

From that time two groups were formed: the Nephites, or followers of Nephi, and the Lamanites, or followers of Laman.

These two groups grew stronger and very fast until they became two nations. These two nations always hated each other and had wars and conflicts. They became political conflicts involving invasions of each other's territories and prisoners.

Lamanites always had Kings. Nephites had kings for several generations until the last king (Mosiah) instated an early form of democracy called "The Judges".

The records of the Nephites is what is now known as "The Book of Mormon".

These records tell about the raising and the falling of this great nation, and how the conflicts with the Lamanites were closely related with the worthiness of the Nephites in God's eyes.

Laman and Nephi were originally white people, but after the division and due to sinful behaviors, God gave a mark upon the Lamanites skin, which was the dark skin.

As generations went by, and countless wars went on, 633 year went by, approximately, and JesusChrist in person with an already resurrected body appeared to the American people.

The records of the Nephites talk about this particular visit in great detail.

After that visit, everybody who participated on the experience got converted into Christianism, and then these people went to preach to all the people who had not seen Jesus in person. After not too many years, every single soul in this vast continent became Christian.

This is an important event, because the two great nations forever enemies became united and they lived in peace as a one great big nation for about 200 years. Those 200 years were the happiest and more peaceful generations human race has ever known. The progress in knowledge and science and discoveries was very important as well. And the two skin colors mixed randomly and freely with new marriages and mixed kids because they were all considered equal.

It was after the fourth generation had passed when vanity and selfishness entered again into the people's hearts and one thing let to another, and before the sixth generation after Christ was gone, everything was just as it was before the visit of Jesus. The two groups were formed and separated again but not because of skin color anymore but because of preferences and ideology. The ones who wanted to forget about Christ called themselves Lamanites, and the ones who wanted to continue with Gods spiritual traditions called themselves Nephites.

It is important to highlight that this two groups were not anymore original by blood, but more political than anything.

Wars started again and the cruelty reached levels never seen before. Mortality was everywhere and the peace never was reestablished.

Eventually the Nephites became cruel and bitter as well and even more than the Lamanites. So, according to the records, God abandoned the Nephites to their own fate. The Nephites never turned their hearts back to the Lord. Eventually, the Nephite nation got exterminated from the face of the Earth. Literally millions of people dead, from both sides. But the Lamanite nation prevailed.

This extermination was the last thing recorded in these ancient records. This was at about 520 years after Christ.

Almost a thousand years later, Christopher Columbus discovered this continent again and found this land covered with people of pagan faith and cruel rituals. A powerful nation that flooded the continent nevertheless very quickly got squashed by this new and extremely small army of white people with little power.
