Learned (educated) or inteligent?
Learing is a continuing process and inteligence is the gift of rationalising.
So surely, somebody who is inteligent will help others solve their problems and those who are learned will get something from any input.
Inteligent women can help by having children and nurturing them and replacing themselves, learned women can just go on learning.......

I think we have some reason to believe that most learned women of the Middle Ages were not nuns. If you look at the lists of medieval women authors, I believe you will find that about half were writing secular literature in the vernacular. I would expect nuns to write mostly religious or medical works in Latin.
But the lists of authors are not complete, and there are many more women authors to be found among those who wrote poems and set them to music, such as the trobairitz, and these were all, or nearly all, secular writers. How many of them were learned is another matter.

Women's roles and stature grew in the war years. They learned they could do men's jobs and work. Many women became doctors, lawyers, judges, business owners and college graduates. The widows learned to be breadwinners. The position of women went up but did not reach high enough so the Women's Liberation Movement had to move things along. Women can now be Fortune 500 business CEOs and owners of those companies. Women are no longer expected to be stay at home mothers. Even men have taken that role now. Women have more respect now but they still don't have equal pay for equal jobs.
