When you shift the Tesla Roadster into reverse you are just reversing the rotation of the electric motor. However it has a built in limiter that prevents you from going any faster than 15 mph in reverse. The Tesla Roadster is supposedly able to achieve 250 miles on a single charge, but this is probably under perfect conditions with minimal stop-and-go. Realistically, it would probably achieve less than that, all depending on driving style and environment as like with regular petroleum fueled vehicles. And with more intense driving and higher speeds, expect an even lower range.
