The Bread represents the body and The Spirit of Christ. The Wine
represents the blood of Christ. the representation came from the
last supper when Jesus said to his disphiles "Take this all of you
and eat it. it is the bread of my body." He picked up the bottle of
wine. " Take this all of you and drink it. it is my blood. drink it
so you shall be with me forever and ever."
So Christians take the bread and the wine to bring them closer
to Jesus, gods only son.
There is a great deal of symbolism in the Bible and it is very
important. There are meanings attached to certain numbers, eg. 7
for perfection as in the 7 days of the week, or 70 times 7 for the
number of times we should forgive our brother. There are the
parables of Jesus Christ in the New Testament, of which many
symbolize the Kingdom of God. There is symbolism in the Passover of
Exodus in Christ's sacrifice as the Lamb of God, and He also
likened His body and blood to the bread and wine of the Passover
meal. See links for more info.
There is a variety of symbolism in the novel The Lovely Bones.
Some of the symbolism includes leaving the front porch light on,
the charm bracelet, and the number 5 jersey.
The word symbolism means to use symbols to represent ideas or
qualities. The pink ribbon and a peace sign are ways of using
symbolism. Everyone recognizes them and knows what they relate
to.
Symbolism means to use symbolic language to show something . We
can see symbolism in the work of Victorians and Modern age writers
Matthew Arnold used symbolism to show the mortality of life . In
the same way Tennyson also used it to tell the optimism.
Symbolism can bring layers of meaning and depth to a creative work by offering a deeper connection to themes or emotions. It can enhance the reader's understanding and interpretation of the work, leading to a more enriched experience. Through symbolism, complex ideas or feelings can be conveyed subtly and effectively.
The symbolism in the Mason's involve rituals by tools of a
medieval stonemason and is used to draw upon the principles they
believe in. The 'all-seeing eye' is an example of freemasonry
symbolism and what they believe to be a symbol of the supreme
being.
