In "Strumpet Song," Sylvia Plath explores themes of female sexuality and identity through the persona of a strumpet (a promiscuous woman). The poem delves into the complexities of societal expectations and the constraints placed on women who do not conform to conventional norms. Plath uses vivid imagery to challenge the stereotypical portrayal of women and to emphasize the importance of embracing one's own sexuality and self-expression.

Anna Wilson's house, the only fifty cent brothel, was enlivened by the presence of a belligerent young strumpet named Annie Stafford, better known as Gentle Annie. Despite the terrific competition Gentle Annie had won renown as a fighter, and she was Madame Wilson's main reliance in her war against Mother Herrick which began in early 1857 when Mother Herrick lured away one of Madame Wilson's fairest flowers by offering her a clean dress and more money. The madames and their loyal henchwomen fought several indecisive street battles, but the war remained a stalemate until the night of April 3, when Gentle Annie, with 3 more of madame Wilson's girls and supported by a detachment of pimps, made a surprise attack. They broke down the front door with clubs, smashed the furniture, chased away customers, and administered sound beatings to Madame Herrick and half a dozen of her girls. Then Gentle Annie returned to her place in triumph, driving before her not only the stolen strumpet but the pick of Mother Herrick's flock as well. Hope that helps ... Mike :)

Fortune is characterized as a malicious or capricious prostitute. In Hamlet's discussion with Rosencrantz and Guildenstern, Guildenstern starts with the metaphor "On Fortune's cap we are not the very button.", and so they explore just what part of Fortune they might be worn on and conclude that their fortunes are middling so they are worn in her middle, whereupon Hamlet says "In the secret parts of Fortune? True, she is a strumpet." This might be thought to be a throwaway joke except that the First Player's speech about Hecuba includes the line, "Out, out, thou strumpet Fortune."
In his famous soliloquy Hamlet talks about "the slings and arrows of outrageous Fortune", suggesting that Fortune is malicious. His line to Horatio, that he is "a man that Fortune's buffets and rewards have ta'en with equal thanks" suggests a more equanimical view of Fortune. He goes on to say "Blest are those whose blood and judgment are so well commingled that they are not a pipe for Fortune's finger to sound what stop she please." This echoes Romeo's line "O I am Fortune's fool!"

Naked has nothing whatsoever to do with the word you are asking about. You came into the world naked as does everyone else, would that mean everyone is a "ho"? I do not think so.
The word "Ho" is a urban derivative of the word whore. A whore is, as defined by most reputable dictionaries. " a woman who engages in promiscuous sexual intercourse, usually for money; a prostitute; a harlot; a strumpet."
The answer above is well done, however, I think the contributor has just mis-spelled the word and dropped an "e". Hoe is a garden implement used for surface tilling the soil and removing weeds from around the base of crops.

The chairman of the Dublin United Tramway Company, William Martin Murphy, did not want workers to join a trade union. He dismissed over 300 of them. As a result other workers around Dublin went on strike and other companies stopped workers in unions from working for them. The lockout itself lasted 7 months and left many people out of work and having to leave Ireland.
It still is spoken about today. The centenary of it was in 2013 and it was marked with events. A famous book was written about it in 1969 called Strumpet City. In 1980 a TV series of the same name was made based on the book. Jim Larkin, the leader of the workers, has a statue in his memory in O'Connell Street, Dublin's main street, since 1977.

The Brightwood demon door is one of the most complicated to open, and ironically offers one of the worst rewards. Several purchases need to be made before it can be opened. Players will need the muttonchops facial hair from the Bowerstone barber, some cheese from the Bowerstone produce trader, a Posh Gentleman's Shirt or Noble Blouse from the Bowerstone tailor, a Farmer's Hat from the Oakfield clothing stall, dreadlocks or a mullet from the Bloodstone barber, and a Strumpet Skirt from a wandering trader (Rookridge and Fairfax Gardens are good places to find them). Wear all of these items then give the door some cheese and it should open.
Hope this helped!

Rosencrantz, Guildenstern and Hamlet are talking about Fortune as a woman. Those who have good fortune are at the top, and those who have bad fortune are at the bottom. It's like the old image of the wheel of fortune, where good luck takes you to the top, but then can spin you down to the bottom.
So, in answering the question which amounts to "How are things going?" Guildenstern's answer is "On Fortune's cap we are not the very button." They are not that button you find on the very tip top of a baseball cap--they are not the luckiest guys in the world, who would be at the highest possible point of Fortune. But in answer to Hamlet's question Rosencrantz says neither are they the soles of her shoes, the lowest possible part of her and therefore the unluckiest possible. No, they are about in the middle near her waist. Which of course gives rise to a dirty joke, which then gives rise to Hamlet's remark "She is a strumpet." Hamlet riffs on the dirty joke to say that there is no trusting luck which is actually a fairly deep remark.
