Social psychology and developmental psychology both study human behavior, but with different focuses. Social psychology happens to be my favorite out of all the courses I take at the University( I study psychology).

Social psychology studies how other people (people who are actually there or people who are in our life but not in our immediate vicinity) can influence our behavior.

for example, how commercials can change our attitudes and opinions. (this is just a small example though)

It is perhaps so that people do indeed apply social psychology to everyday life. We are not even aware of it. Though however that social psychology may be a subject of everyday life, everyday life is not a subject of social psychology. You must put it in its place for many aspects of human behavior and nature may be within the study of social psychology. Thoughts emotions spirituality feelings behavior are human measures or variables of social psychology. Life will not stop for this and the world will not stop turning. Maybe social psychology is simply a separate perception, study and knowledge but is not where we are headed for.
