Saturated fatty acids are so named because they are "saturated" with hydrogen atoms—they have no double bonds between carbon atoms in their hydrocarbon chain. This saturated structure allows the fatty acid molecules to pack closely together, usually resulting in a solid form at room temperature.

Saturated fat can raise blood cholesterol and can put you at risk for heart disease and stroke. You should avoid or limit any foods that are high in saturated fat. Sources of saturated fat include whole-milk dairy products, like cheese, ice cream and butter. Animal fats such as beef, pork or chicken, but not most fish, are also a source of saturated fats. Vegetable sources of saturated fat include coconut and palm oils. When looking at a food label, pay close attention to the percentage of saturated fat.

1 answer
Saturated fats are usually solid at room temperature, such as butter or coconut oil. Unsaturated fats, on the other hand, are typically liquid at room temperature, like olive oil or canola oil.

heated, as the increase in temperature generally increases the solubility of solids in liquids. However, once a solution is saturated, adding more solute will not dissolve and will instead remain as solid at the bottom of the container.

Saturated fats are a type of dietary fat that are typically solid at room temperature. They are found in higher amounts in animal products such as meat and dairy, as well as in some plant-based oils like coconut and palm oil. Consuming high levels of saturated fat has been linked to an increased risk of heart disease.

The weight/weight of CuSO4 in the saturated solution is 20%. This means that for every 100 grams of the solution, 20 grams are CuSO4.

Yes, but trans are much worse.
1 answer
Saturated solution is a solution where the maximum amount of solute has been dissolved at a given temperature, resulting in equilibrium between the dissolved solute and undissolved solute. Any additional solute added beyond this point will not dissolve and will settle at the bottom of the container.
1 answer
It depends on the temperature in the room.
Coconut fat/oil, which is almost only saturated fat, turns to a liquid at 25 degrees celcius. I would estimate that the average room temperature is about 22-24 degrees celsius, but many have above that as well. So for some people it does, for others it doesn't, depending on the exact temperature you keep in the room.

Cheese, like most dairy products, has primarily saturated fat. You can get lowfat versions of the cheese, which will have less total fat content...

No, saturated fat is not a monomer of a lipid. Monomers of lipids are fatty acids, which can be saturated or unsaturated. Saturated fats consist of long chains of saturated fatty acids.

Alkanes are saturated, so if the hydrocarbon has -ane at the end of it, it is saturated.

Yes, C6H14 is a saturated hydrocarbon. Saturated hydrocarbons contain only single bonds between carbon atoms and are fully saturated with hydrogen atoms.

Saturated means more than it can hold so dripping wet would be saturated with water.
1 answer
No carbon-carbon (C=C) double bonds. All carbons are joined to four other atoms: either carbon or hydrogen.

Vegetable oils are liquid at room temp, while animal fats are solid.

Saturated. Saturated Fats are solid at room temperature (like butter), whereas Unsaturated fats are liquid at room temperature (like Vegetable oils).

When you add water to the saturated solution, there is more solvent to dissolve the solute. The saturated solution becomes diluted, so it is no longer saturated.
1 answer
No, urea is not a saturated compound. It contains a carbonyl group (C=O) which makes it a carbonyl compound, not a saturated compound. Saturated compounds have single bonds only.
