apparently etching on the base of a beer glass, ie the carling glass which is laser engraved on the base improves the taste! might be a myth!

Also there is a CE stamp engraved to state the imperial measurement in the UK which is a legal mark to state the glass holds a pint.

For fun you can have a pint engraved as well:

Yes, there is. Some will tell you 1 UK pint is only 568.261485 mL, but glass manufacturers produce and advertise the pint glasses as holding 570 mL. I added a Google link to 570 mL sized glasses that can be bought.

Glasses are made in metric countries and metric people will work in round numbers. Thus the reason a pint glass holds 570 mL and not just 568.261485.

A schooner is not a standard measure. In the UK it can be a relatively large sherry glass or a bigger glass used for beer or cider (2/3 pint). In Newcastle, (England) though, it is a 1/2 pint glass used for serving brown ale. In Australia, a schooner could be a 10 oz or 15 oz glass. So take your pick!

No, 250 ml is the typical equivalent. In Canada our small milk cartons are 250 and 500 ml not half pint and pint. This doesn't mean a half pint is exactly 250 ml however.

Glass measuring cups usually have both ounces and millilitres - at least here.

Well, isn't that a fun little question! You see, the size of a one pound coin and a pint glass may vary slightly, but on average, you could probably fit around 100 one pound coins into a pint glass. Just imagine all those shiny coins nestled in there, creating a lovely little treasure trove! Remember, there's no mistakes in art or math, just happy little accidents.
