Drive time from kahului maui to kapalua maui Hawaii?
Depends on a couple of things since there's no "direct" route and there are really only 2 directions to get there: 1. You can go South/southwest via Ma'alaea then north around the west coast around Lahaina but (a) parts of it are 2-lane roads where you can get slowed down and (b) rush hour around both Wailuku and Lahaina can actually slow things down a lot more because the Kahului area is the largest urban center (including neighboring Wailuku), and there are at least 5 lights along the main road around Lahaina, or
2. you can go north along the east coast of the northern part of the island but (a) the roads are REALLY REALLY narrow in spots (more than the "Road to Hana" and can slow you down a lot (PS which is why rental car companies will hold YOU responsible if you run into trouble on this stretch).
All in all, route 1 is faster regardless, and could be as little as 1/2 hour with "no traffic" or as much as an hour+. 2 may be more scenic and interesting but can be anywhere from a couple of hours (absolute minimum) to as much as 4+ hours if you're stopping at points of interest. Always leave yourself more time than you think - so even route 1 you might want to give yourself more time depending on when you plan the drive.....
