"Singularity" is a fancy mathematical word for something that involves infinity at one point.
In the case of 'black hole', you're talking about something that has a lot of mass and no size.
Since the mass exists in zero volume, its density is (mass) divided by (zero). Ordinarily, we're
not allowed to divide by zero, but there it is hanging there in space, and it exists, so we have to
describe it. Divide the mass by zero, and you get a pretty large number for density ... a singularity,
at the point in space where the mass is.
