Marguerite Canal

(b Toulouse, 29 Jan 1890; d Cépet, 27 Jan 1978). French composer. She studied and later taught at the Paris Conservatoire and was the first woman to conduct orchestral concerts in France (1917). She produced a small output of personally expressive songs and instrumental pieces.
