You have various options. You can go on the R692 and head to the M8. The follow it north until it joins the M7 and keep on north to Kildare. You can also get to the M8 by going along the R689 from Fethard, and then following the route as before. That way is the most direct. A third option to take the N76 to the M9 and go to Kildare by heading north and coming off at Exit 2.
