Eden Atwood (January 1969 – ) is a jazz singer who makes her home in Missoula, Montana. She was born in Memphis, Tennessee but moved to Montana at the age of five following her parents' divorce. She is the granddaughter of A. B. Guthrie, Jr.. Eden was the youngest jazz artist signed to Concord Records and made her debut with Marion McPartland on "There Again" (1994), a recording now out of print. Her rendition of "The Nearness of You" on this early record is a lovely example of her ballad style. Eden has continued to record and perform internationally. Two recent releases on the Groove Note label include a bossa album entitled "Waves" (2002), and a ballad album including Tom Harrell entitled "This is Always" (2004). Eden was born wit a genetic condition called AIS (androgen sensitivity syndrome). She is outspoken about AIS and intersex issues, working with national organizations and discussing her condition openly in liner notes on the Waves album.
