His first telenovela was produced by Rosy Ocampo, “Alegrijes y Rebujos”, in which he portrayed the character Ricardo. Despite this role, Diego's career didn't really take off until he was cast in the telenovela “Mision S.O.S” as Christian. For his work as Christian, he was nominated for best actor at the Tvynovelas Awards. He was invited to the United International Pictures to lend his voice to the younger son from the Spencer family in the cartoon Thunderbirds. He participated in many other projects such as the Teletón-Mexico 2003 and the 2004 Athens Olympics. He then went on to record songs for the Mision S.O.S soundtrack. The soundtrack went double platinum and was nominated for a Latin Grammy Award. Diego released his first song "Aquí Voy" written by Mario Domm. It has became one of the most played songs on the Big Brother 3 and Big Brother VIP program. To prepare for his debut album, Diego took lessons with a professional singer and vocalist named Seth Riggs. Mr. Riggs has worked with many very famous acts, including, Quincy Jones, Michael Jackson, Madonna, and Janet Jackson. Throughout the years, Diego has showcased his singing skills on various telenovelas. However, even as he achieved success as an actor he dreamed of pursuing a singing career. Today, he is signed to EMI Music México. He has already released his first album. He visited Argentina in 2005 to work with producer Cachorro Lopez, who has been the producer for many very successful musicians, including Diego's co-stars, RBD. Rebelde ended on June 2 and a movie is in the works. Diego has said that he will not be able to participate in the movie because he will be promoting his debut album.
