Congestive heart failure involving the right side of the heart would be evident in the body as edematous feet.

1 answer

Heart failure is most commonly encountered as congestive heart failure (CHF) a condition that progresses slowly until symptoms begin to show themselves. CHF occurs when the heart can no longer efficiently pump blood throughout the body. It can be caused by ischemic heart disease, high blood pressure, diseases of the heart's valves, or because the heart becomes enlarged through compensatory exertion. A personal history of previous heart attacks may also cause CHF.

Because blood flow is impeded by the inefficient operation of the heart, blood will pool due to gravity in various anatomic sites. Edema of the lower extremities is the most recognizable outward sign of CHF. The feet and legs swell due to the effects of gravity on the circulatory system. The swelling can be mild, resulting in marks remaining in the leg tissues after the removal of footwear or socks, or it can be severe, limiting mobility, and making walking painful.

A less obvious form of edema is pulmonary edema, in which blood collects in the lungs, hampering efficient respiration. Obvious outward signs of compromised lung function include shortness of breath, fatigue, and a persistent, unproductive cough. On examination, rales, which are crackling sounds audible through a stethoscope, can be detected in the base of the lungs. In advanced CHF, rales are heard throughout the lungs.

The combination of improper circulation and reduced lung function can result in hypoxia, or low oxygen saturation of the red blood cells. In advanced cases, a patient can exhibit cyanosis, which is visible as a blue tint to the nail beds of the fingers and toes.

Both of these conditions are commonly treated through the use of prescribed diuretic medication to reduce fluid volume in the body. Diuretics promote the kidneys to remove fluid from the body, reducing blood volume and decreasing strain on the heart through the process.

The heart contains four chambers. The two on the right side of the heart receive blood from the rest of the body and pump it into the lungs for oxygen rejuvenation. The two chambers on the left side of the heart receive the blood from the lungs and pump it to the rest of the body to begin the cycle again. CHF can be unilateral or bilateral. Which side of the heart is responsible, or both sides, can be determined by a licensed health care provider familiar with the signs specific to each.

1 answer

Treatment for congestive heart failure depends on the condition causing the heart to fail. Treatments can include heart transplant, valve replacement, bypass surgery, medications and lifestyle changes. Pacemakers, defibrillators and implanted "assist pumps" may also be utilized.

Supportive care for congestive heart failure includes treatment of edema and mitigation of sleep apnea, thyroid problems or anemia. Lifestyle changes are encouraged. Patients should stop smoking, avoid second-hand smoke, limit or eliminate caffeine and alcohol, achieve and maintain a healthy body weight, manage stress, and exercise as recommended by the attending physician.

No Furosemide is a water pill. It makes you pee more often flushing sodium from your body which could cause retention. Because of this, water does not congest your lungs and it clears your lungs to breath properly. I used to have Shortness of breath but since I started on lasix three months ago I breath very good and do not need to prop myself up with pillows while sleeping. So to answer your question I am patient on Lasix who knows that Furosemide does the opposite, it helps with shortness of breath(SOB)

Some solutions to reduce urbanization include promoting rural development to create jobs and economic opportunities outside of urban areas, implementing land use planning and zoning policies to limit urban sprawl, and investing in infrastructure and public services in rural areas to make them more attractive for living and working. Additionally, encouraging telecommuting and remote working can help shift populations away from crowded urban centers.

Babies cannot express their discomfort except by crying out, but many times they are experiencing cabin pressure changes which can give them serious ear pain. Their eustachion tubes are not fully developed, and they tend to be "colicky" which can congest their ear passages and pharynx. The middle ear can present serious pain to the baby when the cabin presure is changing. For this reason, you should give the baby a bottle (water, formula, or juice), especially when ascending or descending. This is almost equivalent to adults chewing gum or popping your ears. This may alleviate some of the baby's discomfort.

sweets and softdrinks so be careful of eating them, eat them 3 times a week so that you will not have phlegm

According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, foods and drinks with a cold, sweet nature contribute to phlegm and mucous-- they do this by weakening the spleen and digestive process, which in turn allows an accumulation of fluids which congest in the form of phlegm.

Well for starters you are taking responsibility in your world, taking a green advantage. Hybrid vehicles are 100% emission free, causing absolutely no pollutants to congest our air. Since a hybrid can run off either Sun, battery, or hydroponics, your gas budget will be significantly reduced. One other good point is that hybrid vehicles are three times as efficient as gas engines. The feeling of owning a hybrid is felt throughout the world. The economy can at times reach up to 30 miles a gallon more than a conventional car. A Hybrid will come almost as cheap as the gas, unless you are going for luxury of course. One person at a time, will make a positively significant change for our future.

Many people are "addicted" to over the counter nose spray. They work by instantly shrinking the nasal blood vessels and opening the nose to breathe. This is great, BUT the directions say every 12 hours to use it. As you continue to use it, it becomes less effective and the temptation to use it sooner overcomes your good sense to follow instructions. I was addicted for 5 years and had to use it every hour on the hour everyday. I had bottles in the car, in my pocket, in the night stand, extras always ready and I felt like I was suffocating without it. It was miserable. Doctors can prescribe steroid sprays that can help some people wean off the over the counter stuff, but these prescription medications do not work for all people. The most reliable way to stop using Nose Spray is to wean off one nostril at a time. Here is how it works: Start using the nose spray in your right nostril ONLY. You will be able to breath through that nostril but the left non-medicated one will congest completely within a few hours and may stay that way for days or even weeks. But once the left nostril fully withdraws from the long term effects of the spray, it will stay open on its own. At that point, stop using the spray all together. Your right nostril will congest at this point because it is no longer medicated, but in a few days or weeks, it will clear up and you will be NASAL SPRAY FREE! Don't kid yourself. This will be hard. But remember, you are not really suffocating, you are just uncomfortable. You will feel lopsided for a few weeks (because you are only breathing out of one side of your nose), but once that ends (and it will end)... you will never have to panic because you went to the movies or a restaurant and forgot your nasal spray. You will feel uncomfortable just a few weeks instead of for the rest of your life.

Rural-urban migration in Kenya is primarily driven by factors such as limited economic opportunities in rural areas, seeking better education and healthcare facilities in urban centers, access to better infrastructure and services, and the desire for a higher standard of living. Additionally, environmental factors such as climate change and natural disasters can also push rural populations to migrate to urban areas in search of more secure livelihoods.

Advantages: you live close to most stores and places and you don't need to travel very far to get to places

Disadvantages: it is very loud and noisy because of the cars but if you live in a closed neighborhood then you should be just fine. Also the car's smoke might drive you insane if you are a person that prefers to walk instead of drive.

Hope this helped :)

Even though I am not an expert over the years I have received several compliments on my homes. The main things I look for in decorating for myself are comfortable and adequate seating, not to congest the area of any room, keep the colors bright but not gaudy The window treatments, whatever style, should afford light and privacy...if you live far enough from the street or neighbors ..you may or may not need to cover completely. Keep things coordinated and reflecting your own individual tastes or collections. With your furniture...good wood is timeless but there is no need to pay a fortune. There is no need to complete your entire house in a short period of time. You are hopefully going to live with these items for quite a while...so choose carefully. One of our houses the kitchen hutch, table and chairs and dining set all came from one of those stores that sells unfinished furniture...quality oak with them refinishing it. Choose which rooms you would like to possible put harwood floors....our were installed when we built 10 years ago, kitchen and all, and not a scratch or scuff or dent. Also...ceiling moulding goes a long way to add style. I enjoy decorating a home. I try to pick 4 colors with an accent color. One room may be predominately green with gold accents...another pale gold and green wiith cranberry accents This way the entire house just "flows"... I did throw in a Coca-Cola bathroom ....BE YOURSELF....you have to enjoy your surroundings!
