According to the band members, singer & rhythm guitarist Paul Stanley (aka "Starchild") came up with the name as he, singer & bass guitarist Gene Simmons (aka "Demon"), and drummer Peter Criss (aka "Catman") were driving around New York City. The three had been playing in a band they called Wicked Lester. Lead guitarist Ace Frehley (aka "Starman") had just joined the other three to form a new act and they were looking for a new name for their band. Criss mentioned that he had been in a band called Lips, so Stanley said something to the effect of "What about Kiss?"

1 answer

Paul Stanley became the "Starchild" because of his tendency to be referred to as the "starry-eyed lover" and "hopeless romantic." The "Demon" makeup reflected Simmons's cynicism and dark sense of humor, as well as his affection for comic books. Ace Frehley's "Spaceman" makeup was a reflection of his fondness for science fiction and supposedly being from another planet. Peter Criss's "Catman" makeup was in accordance with the belief that Criss had nine lives because of his rough childhood in Brooklyn.

Ear pointing has been around for over a decade, but still isn't overly common amongst the body modification community, simply due to the fact that it's not that aesthetically pleasing to look at, as the after results usually cannot be determined. The scar tissue may be a bit much, and they may look a little too "crunched" like a cauliflower ear at times. As far as tails go, Dennis Abner, better known as the "Catman" or "Cat" as he usually goes by, is the leading voice in this area as he has been trying to kick around ways of having an animatronic tail grafted to his spine, but the technology simply doesn't exist as of now.

In the first short, Cartman was called Kenny and died in that first short. In Imaginationland, Kyle died after being strangled by ManBearPig. However, Cartman revied him, only so that Kyle could suck his balls. Towards the end of the same South Park three-part episode, Al Gore, wanting to get rid of ManBearPig, restarts an aborted nuclear missle and Kyle, Catman, Gore, and Pentagon workers get sucked into Imaginationland. Stan already got sucked in earlier. Just after Butters and the good imaginary characters win the war of Imaginationland, the nuclear missle goes off, killing Stan, Kyle, Cartman, Al Gore, the Pentagon workers, and the imaginary characters. Somehow, Butters survives the explosion and imagines everything bact to the way it was. But just imagine, what if Butters had died in the explosion too? Kenny would be very lonley and South Park would be in mourning.
