Anniversary of what? First date, the day you met, the first time you said I love you? Oh well. In general, but depending on her age, some sort of jewelry is always good. Expense is appreciated, but the thought counts too. A 100 dollar pair of earrings is exceptional for teenagers, especially if the earring(s) symbolize something. But it doesn't have to cost that much. The thought could easily be much more meaningful than the cost. A plastic piece of crap from a 50 cent vending machine can sometimes be worth more than fine gold and diamonds.
One of the best things I ever got was a cheap little plastic collar pin of a cute little duck that was obviously a video arcade prize worth about 500 tickets. I just loved it so. That's how I got my nickname, given to me by my first husband many years ago (the pin and the nickname).
Be creative and thoughtful in your gift giving. It should reflect the fact that you know the person you are giving it to. If you don't know what to give, you probably haven't been paying enough attention.
