mainly alternator, synchronous motor comes under the synchronous machine.a synchronous motor is not a self starting motor.if a synchronous motor moves with more than synchronous speed then it acts as a synchronous generator.

1 answer

By definition a synchronous generator must be synchronous. If it is not "locked in" it is not a synchronous generator, but an induction machine.

ASYNCHRONOUS is a mode whereby events happens irregardless of control. SYNCHRONOUS are this same events but controlled by a timing and/or control

A synchronous motor is designed to convert electrical energy into mechanical energy to produce rotation, while a synchronous condenser is designed to only regulate voltage and improve power factor on the electrical grid without mechanical output. Both devices are synchronous machines that operate based on the principles of synchronous operation and require a magnetic field to be established.

Synchronous motors run at synchronous speed. An induction motor that has the same number of poles must run at a sub-synchronous speed to create a second magnetic field (a field that is at a different phase angle) to generate torque.

Synchronous rotation or tidal locking.

The Moon is in synchronous rotation about the Earth. Most major moons in the solar system have a synchronous rotation.

synchronous input means that the flipflop reads input only at posedge or negedge of the clock.

Synchronous buses use a clock signal to synchronize data transfers between components, ensuring that data is transferred at a predictable rate. Non-synchronous buses transfer data without a clock signal and rely on other mechanisms to coordinate data transmission. Synchronous buses are generally faster and more efficient but can be more complex to design and implement compared to non-synchronous buses.

Slip, , is defined as the difference between synchronous speed and operating speed, at the same frequency, expressed in rpm or in percent or ratio of synchronous speed. Thus

Mean transient stability is referring to a synchronous power system's ability to overcome a large disturbance. The transient stability represents the synchronous power system stabilizing and maintain it's synchronous balance.

One of the Advantage of synchronous detection is that it causes less distortion when compared to envelope detection. Also synchronous works well with Single sideband signals.

A synchronous condenser (also known as a synchronous capacitor or synchronous compensator) is a DC-excited synchronous computer (large rotating generators) whose shaft is now not connected to any using equipment.

Yes. It is operating in synchronous with the clock. Two wire communication. SDA, SCL and GND pins.

A synchronous motor is used only with a.c. Its speed is dependent on the frequency of the a.c.

Synchronous motors have unmeasureable slip because they stay in sync with the input line frequency.

A synchronous motor can operate as either a Generator or a Motor.

When a synchronous motor has current applied to the windings on its rotor and the stator is energized with say a 50hz line supply (with little or no physical load) then the exact amount of excitation provided by the rotor can determine whether the stator displays inductive or capacitive properties.

If the rotor is under excited (too Little rotor current) the Synchronous Motor will behave as an Inductor, however if the rotor is over excited then the Synchronous Motor will behave like a Capacitor.

Hope this helps

An induction motor rotating at higher than synchronous speed would be generating power, thus would be a generator. No motor operating as a motor runs above synchronous speed.

Number of poles and supply freqency determines speed of synchronous motor.

For speed control of such motors Variable Freqency Drives(VFD) are used.

Toggle is the fastest type of MLC NAND by a considerable margin. There is a larger performance gap between toggle and synchronous than there is between synchronous and asynchronous.

If a process requests that the O/S write data to disk, and has to wait for it to be written before continuing, then that is Synchronous. If the process does not have to wait for the write to be completed, that is Asynchronous.

Synchronous is real-time.

synchronous motor is a constant speed motor because it will only run at a synchronous speed or not at all.the speed can be changed by changiing the frequency only ns=120f/p

1 answer

Synchronous speed is determined by the number of poles on the motor and the frequency of the power supply. Mathematically, synchronous speed (in RPM) can be calculated as 120 times the frequency of the power supply divided by the number of poles.

1 answer

Synchronous motors have no slip. This is because the rotor runs at the same speed as the speed of the rotating magnetic flux of the stator.

1 answer

Because they contain clock recovery circuits

1)Synchronous motors are those that run only at Synchronous speed i.e. constant speed. But Motor can run in various speeds.

2)Synchronous motors runs at same speed of magnetic filed. but if one consider case of induction motor the rotor rotates at different speed than revolving magnetic field. there is slip between field and rotor.
