In the grand scheme of things, Teton Energy (formerly Teton Petroleum) is looking for energy assets in the Rocky Mountains. The oil and gas exploration and production company has leasehold interests in the Eastern Denver-Julesburg Basin in Nebraska, the Piceance Basin in Western Colorado, and the Williston Basin in North Dakota. Once a player in the Russian oil patch, in 2004 Teton Energy sold its 35% stake in Goloil, a Russian closed joint stock company active in oil and gas exploration in Siberia, and subsequently exited the Russian market. In 2005 and 2006 the company acquired oil and gas assets in the Rocky Mountains. Teton Energy has proved reserves of 7.1 billion cu. ft. of natural gas equivalent.
