As the oldest city in South Africa, Cape Town boasts many interesting and historical buildings, most of which are still in use today. Most notable is The Castle of Good Hope, erected between 1666 and 1679 by the Dutch East India Company. It is the oldest building in South Africa and still houses the Western Cape headquarters of the South African Military. Tours are available and it is also home to the South African Military Museum.

Politically is South Africa following in the footsteps of Zimbabwe?

South Africa seems to be more of a liberal democracy in contrast to Zimbabwe with its Stalinist policies and absurd hyperinflation($1 is worth 10,000,000,000 of their dollars, or something like that). But the ANC did do a lot of work with Mugabe's Zanu-PF, and plus governments change. Your scenario could happen, but right now it looks like South Africa is moving in the right direction.

What does South Africa's flag look like?

South Africa's flag was adopted on April 27, 1994 after Nelson Mandela became president. The new flag was brought to South Africa to represent the country's political transformation as well as showing South Africa as a new democracy. South Africa's flag colors do not have any significant meaning to them. The colors are black, green, and yellow. The horizontal "Y" shape represents the convergence of South Africa's diverse society, and how it was desired to be one.
