I think that soup though was originally created for people who had no teeth or had a very hard time trying to swallow or chew their food. That way, they had food to eat that was healthy and good. Another thing that soup has been used for is to cure people when they are sick. Ever heard of chicken noodle soup helping the cold? (it doesn't actually cure the cold though)
