This poem 'UNDER THE GREEN WOOD TREE' is written by 'WILLIAM Shakespeare'. The central idea of the is that if one wants to live a peaceful life , a life without tensions and problems then he should spend his life in the shelter of tree were he will find peace. The voice of birds will make him feel relaxed. He should forget all his desires which he wanted to fulfil in this fake world.

1st stanza

Under the Greenwood tree...

..................Winter and rough weather

If there is any one who loves to lie with me under the greenwood tree and wants to sing a happy song with the birds, he should come here. here he shall not see any enemy but he will have to face winter and rough weather.

2nd stanza

Who doth ambition shun,

..................Winter and rough weather.

come here, if he is not ambitious and wants to earn his bread by the sweet of his brow and is likely to be pleased with what he receives. he is most welcome over here, because there are no enemies except winter and rough weather.

The central idea of the poem "Under the Green Wood Tree" by William Shakespeare is the celebration of love and nature. The poem emphasizes the beauty and simplicity of being in nature, particularly under a green wood tree, as a setting for love and joy. It conveys a sense of peace, harmony, and contentment that can be found in the natural world.

TREES by:Joyce Kilmer

I think that i shall never see

A poem lovely as a tree.

A tree whose hungry mouth is pressed

Against the earth's sweet flowing breast

A tree that looks at God all day

And lifts her leafy arms to pray:

A tree that may in summer wear

A nest of robins in her hair;

Upon whose bosom snow has lain:

Who intimately lives with rain.

Poems are made by fools like me

But only God can make a tree.

It sounds like a song. That's because it is a song. It's sort of a praise of living the hippie life, out in the country, with nothing to do or fear except winter and rough weather. It's natural, man. Living with nature, that's where it's at.

I think the forest used in this poem is the main theme here. The forest presents a peaceful simple life which is free of worldly tension.

the poet explain the charm of the forest life and ask people to come and join him in the forest with its comfort, and to let the life of the city behind with its noise.
