Donald Trump is a registered Republican in the State of New York. Not a registered Conservative.

He has donated considerably to both Democrats and Republicans, but more recently his political donations have been weighted towards Republicans.

He has friendships and ties with Republican and conservative figures including Bill O'Reilly, Edward F. Cox, Steve Forbes, Rudy Giuliani, and George Pataki.

He has publicly criticized both President George W. Bush and President Barack H. Obama. In 2008, he publicly endorsed John McCain and Sarah Palin, the Republican nominees for president and vice-president respectively on CNN's Wolf Blitzer. He has been supportive of both Hillary and Bill Clinton, and has stated that Hillary Clinton "would've been a great president."

He has also stated that he is considering a run for president in 2012 as a Republican. He has made appearances at a few Republican events in the Northeast and even appeared on a New Hampshire Republican Party straw poll for 2012.

Donald Trump has reported in several recent interviews that his political affiliation resides with the Republicans. At the same time he has also stated that he believes that George Bush is the worst President in US history. He has in the past openly discussed running for president under the GOP (1988). In 1999 he switched from Republican Party to the Reform Party and has switched back since then....So I guess you could say he is a Republican but may not be one of their strongest supporter.
