∙ 14y agoCodeine is a controlled substance and is legal by prescription only. Like any other prescription penalties can be inforced for giving prescription drugs to another. Please be careful if you plan on using codeine recreationally. It is usually laced with other drugs that can damage the liver if you increase the dosage beyond the prescribed amount.
