This all depends on whether it is a majority or minority government. If it is a minority government then the average time period between elections is usually between 18 months to 36 months (3 years). If it is a majority government it is usually around 3-5 years.

There are no presidential elections in Canada, as Canada doesn't have a president. General elections, in which Canadians elect Members of Parliament to represent their ridings in the House of Commons, can be called at any time by the Governor General, but by law, they must be held no later than the third Monday in October in the fourth calendar year after the previous general election. Government positions are appointed based on the composition of the House of Commons following an election.

Canada has a parliamentary form of government. Voters elect a parliament; voters do not directly elect a prime minister.

Canada gets a new Prime Minister about once every 8 years. This usually only occurs when the current Prime Minister resigns, or the political party in power changes after an election.
