Depends on how famous the movie star is, and depends on how much the producer is willing to spend on a particular actor. The exact figue is worked out by the actor & the producers legal team, with a binding contract. from someone:dude or dudette this is not an answer k so go jump off a cliff REAL ANSWER: alot! like $1,00,000! but not just for one movie. THE ACTUAL AWNSER: NO neither of u are correct well maybe the first awnser. but actually depending on how famous they are. like Tom Cruise got paied 75 million for mission impossible. but he was really famous his 1st movie he got paid 70,000. so there
Probably about one million dollars.
For a "movie star", actually . . . one million would be low.
If the celebrity has a big name (Jim Carrey, Russell Crowe), at last count, the men make about $25,000,000 (twenty-five million) per film. A big name woman (Julia Roberts, Sandra Bullock) celebrity goes from about $17,000,000 to $20,000,000.
As for an average working film actor (not necessarily a "movie star"), although an average working actor may do many films in big roles; they can range from as low as $5,000 to $50,000 per film. There are factors involved such as 1) size of the role, 2) how long they shoot (as these non-celebrity actors are often paid by the day) and 3) who else is in the film.
If there's a big name actor, say Tom Hanks, in the film. They are contracted to pay him $25,000,000 for the film. There's a huge amount of the estimated budget. Thus, if Mr. or Ms. Working Film Actor is working right beside Mr. Hanks; he or she may get only $30,000 (thirty thousand) for the film. BUT, opportunity to be seen as a film starring Tom Hanks will probably sell lots of box office.
It's very complicated but the simple answer is it depends on the actor's contract, budget of the film and union that the production decides to join. Each film that goes into production enters into a budget bracket whether it's high, medium, low, modified low or ultra low. Brackets levels are determined by the unions. These brackets guarantee actors minimum rates for different types of roles; lead, supporting, featured etc. From there the numbers go up based on a negotiated rate by the actor's agent. Sometimes they take a lot up front, while others will take a percentage of the film's profits. Often the back end profits can amount to a much higher long term rate. Different deals are made with different budget ranges and caliber of actors.
Well the top guys like Will Smith, Brad Pitt, and Geogre Cloony make a signing deal worth about $20,000,000 and keep making more as the movie does good in the theaters.
