Mattō (松任市; -shi) was a city located in Ishikawa, Japan.
As of 2003, the city has an estimated population of 66,520 and the density of 1,109.96 persons per km². The total area is 59.93 km².
The city was founded on October 10, 1970. On February 1, 2005, the city of Matto was merged with seven towns and villages in Ishikawa District to form the new city of Hakusan.
